Multi-instrumentalist, Sergio A. Villegas, grew up in Santiago, Chile, listening to both the traditional sounds of South American and European Classical music.  At the age of six, his journey of music began ...

Sergio was born in Santiago, Chile.  He went to John Bosco Catholic School and attended the Conservatory of Music at the age of six. In his early age, he won awards in festivals by playing his original compositions.  It was the beginning of his music journey .....  

His music career started at the age of 13. He joined a group called Kunza and performed everywhere in Chile for festivals and functions and became very popular, having a lot of articles, pictures and appeared on TV, newspapers and magazines.  By the age of 15, he was established as a professional musician.

He moved to LA in 1980 and studied business administration and marketing.  He played with Sajama and recorded around 9 CDs. Also he performed in very important venues like Universal CityWalk for over 15 years, Grammys, house band for channel 22, movies, commercials, etc. 

 

His career has included over 50 CDs as a studio musician as well as his own and he's performed nationwide and several countries. He played with LA Philharmonic Orchestra directed by by Quincy Jones.  He's recorded and played for artists including , Los Fugitivos, , Luis Jara, Jamie Ciero, Enrico Ceretti and so many other significant musicians. He's also done music for movies, Disney films,commercials and TV shows including on air appearances in "Sex and the City " episodes. He's toured USA and various countries with different  artists.

He moved to Palm Springs, Coachella Valley in the year of 2000 and joined the Evaro Family, one of the most well known entertainers in the valley.  He has been very successful in performing at the most prestigious country clubs, festivals and hotels as well as at the Broken Glass Awards for Women in Film.  Multiple times in a year, he has performed at Fitz's Jazz Cafe Series in the main lobby of McCallum theater before Kenny G, George Benson, Vanessa Williams and more. Also he played for "Fitz and Friends, A CV Christmas" on the main stage of the theater.   

In the year of 2015, he recorded his own first CD by popular demand.  It brings him joy to know people around the world could have his CDs, some of which are available on this site.  He is regarded as one of the top charango studio musician in the world.
